EVA shoes can be hand-washed using lukewarm water, gentle soap and a washcloth or soft brush. Using a towel, pat excess water off and leave them to dry completely in a cool and shaded area.
Native shoes are formed using heat and so can be deformed by it as well! For these reasons, never put your EVA shoes in the washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher.
Since they are heat sensitive, we also recommend keeping them out of direct sunlight when off the foot and never leaving them in the car on a hot day.

Keeping your little one safe on escalators
As mums ourselves, we know you can't always hold their hand every second. So we put together these simple reminders for our own kids. Soft slip-on shoes can catch at the edges of escalator steps, so they matter most for shoes like these.
- 1Face forward, stand centredStand in the middle of the step, facing the direction of travel.
- 2Step on and off calmlyNo jumping, no rushing. Teach them to pause, then step.
- 3Hands away from the sidesKeep little fingers away from the gap between the step and the side panel.

Frequently asked questions
Is EVA safe for my child?
EVA stands for ethylene-vinyl acetate, a soft, flexible foam material that naturally moulds to little feet with every step. Think of it as the same cushioning used in premium athletic shoes, but lighter and fully washable. Native shoes are REACH, CPSIA and Prop 65 compliant, and are free from BPA, phthalates, formaldehyde and formamide.
Are Native shoes waterproof? Are they good for Singapore weather?
Native shoes are water-resistant and breathable, so they handle splashes, puddles, afternoon showers and sweaty playground sessions with ease. They are not designed for full submersion, but they will keep feet dry in everyday wet conditions, and they dry fast too.
Are they slip-resistant? My child runs everywhere.
Native shoes are not certified non-slip, so we would not recommend them for activities that specifically require slip-resistant footwear. That said, the EVA sole provides good everyday grip for running, playing and general adventuring. As always, supervise little ones on wet or uneven surfaces, and especially on escalators (see our safety tips above).
Do you sell half sizes?
Native shoes are only carried in full sizes. If your child falls between sizes, we recommend measuring their foot length and using our size guide to choose the closest fit. If you're unsure, drop us a message or head to our store at One Holland Village to try them on. We're happy to help you decide.

Are Native shoes suitable for all-day wear?
Native shoes are casual slip-ons and are not designed with arch support, so they are not ideal for extended walking or high-activity days. For long hikes or very active outdoor days, we'd recommend a more supportive brand such as KEEN, Pediped or your typical international sports brand.
That said, many Singapore parents love Native shoes for school. Kindergartens may require children to remove their shoes when entering classrooms or activity areas. Native's slip-on design means children under 6 years can take them off and put them back on completely independently, without needing mum, dad or a teacher to help.
My child got them muddy. How do I clean them?
Native EVA shoes can be hand-washed using lukewarm water, gentle soap and a washcloth or soft brush. Pat dry with a towel and leave them in a cool, shaded spot to air dry. Never put them in the washing machine, dryer or dishwasher. EVA is heat-sensitive and can warp if exposed to high temperatures.
Can I leave them in the sun or in the car?
Native shoes are heat sensitive. We recommend keeping them out of direct sunlight when you are not wearing them and never leaving them in the car on a hot day. EVA can warp or deform in a hot car, especially under Singapore's sun, and if the shape has changed, unfortunately they cannot be restored. A good habit is to bring them inside whenever you bring the kids inside.
Do you sell Native shoes for adults?
I'm afraid we do not. You can find the adult range in department stores in Singapore.
